He was also president of the Poetry Society of America, 1998-2008. In addition, his library had large holdings on civil rights and the American black experience.
    • Edward Vebell, a fencer and illustrator who during World War II was a staff artist for Stars & Stripes as well as the official courtroom artist for the Nuremberg war trials.  His collection is heavy in militaria, the American West, and the American Indian, and much will be at the sale, augmented by other donations.
    • Emanuel “Manny” Margolis, a prominent civil rights attorney  and onetime chairman of the ACLU of Connecticut.
    • Heritage Press. Several collections -- in slipcases -- in our Literature category.
