        • Fischer: Partije.....Games....(etc.). Belgrade: Sahovski Informator (1992). A paperback in excellent condition. Signed "Bobby Fischer" on the title page. (Comes with an authentication letter from a prominent dealer that Fischer signed the book in Budapest in 1996.) with Garry Kasparov and others. Kasparov v. Karpov. Oxford, Pergamon Chess (1991). First paperback edition in excellent condition. Signed on the half-title. 
        • Adam Smith. An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. The fourth edition in four volumes (containing all five "books" of Wealth of Nations). Basil (sic): Tourneisen and Legrand, 1791. Published a year after Smith's death, this is supposedly the first continental edition and contributed enormously to the spread of Adam Smith's ideas in Europe.
    • Interesting and important special collections of books and magazines, mostly from individual donors:
      • Playboy magazine, a few from 1960's, many from 70's and 80s,and also 90s and early 2000.
      • Clocks and watches --- history, collecting, repairing. Includes the National Watch and Clock Collectors bulletin from 1978 to 2003.
      • Model Engineer and Amateur Electrician: a Journal of Mechanics and Electricity for Amateurs and Students. The British hobbyist magazine, a run of 58 issues from 1901 (#4) to 1963 (#129).
      • Classic and vintage cars, especially the Alfa Romeo.
      • Stage and screen, including many signed copies by performing art luminaries.
      • Gay and lesbian nonfiction and fiction.
      • Civil rights movement going back to the Freedom Summer of 1964, some signed, from the estate of Westport writer and artist, Tracy Sugarman
      • From New York's prestigious National Arts Club, a major collection of books, including signed copies from authors who spoke at Club gatherings.

  • Volunteers: Approximately 200 volunteers are needed for a successful Book Fair. Anyone interested in working a 3 to 4 hour shift at the Fair or in helping to set up the Fair, will be able to sign up online beginning July 1 at www.stchlibraryfriends.org. Volunteer jobs include stocking tables, tallying sales, cashiering, providing information and loading and unloading trucks. Volunteers will be notified of their duties prior to the Book Fair.

    • 1682 Dutch treatise on caesarean section procedures, "Voorstelling van de Nooksakelijkheid der Keyserlijke Snee,"
    • Richardson's "Iconology or a Collection of Emblematical Figures," published in three volumes in 1779 with plates.
  • Several pleasing collections will also be featured including:
    • A fine private library of author-signed modern fiction includes titles by Michael Crichton, Norman Mailer, P.D. James, Johnathan Kellerman, Jerzy Kosinski, and many others.
    • Signed Limited Editions Club printings dating back to 1938, Civil War history (including books, magazines, prints and ephemera), history of the American West and Native American Indians, antique children's titles, and various other topics.
  • Artwork includes pieces attributed to Guy C. Wiggins, Natalia Goncharova, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Li Keran and Adolf Dehn, along with an original letter signed by Andrew Wyeth.
  • Ephemera lots include antique lithographs and engravings dating back to the 18th century, early hand-illumined leaves, antique postcard and photo travel albums, and a wide variety of themes such as Cuba, postcards, greeting cards, magazines, chromolithographs, travel-related, original antique correspondence, antique photographs, and other genres.

Once in the general area of the college, look for signs directing you to the FOL Book Sale. Find West Broadway Avenue and take that until it dead ends into the rear of the college. The field house is on your left as is ample off-street parking.
