- FOL Gainesville does not allow pre-buying of items. Everything, and everybody waits on that opening morning entry that is traditionally lead by our Scottish Bag Piper!
- We will follow the most current CDC guidelines at the time. We recommend masks and social distancing.. On busy days shoppers may have to wait in line until others first leave the building.

Birdie’s Bookmobile helps families build print-rich home environments, improve literacy outcomes, and grow lifelong readers. In addition to accepting donations of children’s and young-adult books, the bookmobile will be offering several fun activities for children attending this year’s Bookfest, including:
- Create Your Own Comic Strip
- Have Fun with Mad Libs
- “Once Upon a Time” — children take turns adding one sentence to a story. The story will be available to read on the Bookmobile website after Bookfest.
- There is no admission fee at Bookfest, nor is there any charge for children to participate in any activities.
- Book donations help build home libraries, promote shared reading experiences, and impact generations. Every book counts! Book needs for children from birth to age 18 include:

Save the dates! The annual Summit College Club Foundation Book Sale will take place from Wednesday, April 17th through Sunday, April 21st, at the American Legion Post #433, 357 Elkwood Avenue in New Providence, NJ (next to the library).
The Book Sale is the Summit College Club Foundation‘s most important fundraiser each year. The proceeds from the sale are used to provide college scholarships to deserving young women from local high schools. Since the sale's inception, the Summit College Club Foundation has given out hundreds of college scholarships totaling more than one million dollars.
Wednesday, April 17th, from 9 am to 2 pm is Preview Day, when book dealers, collectors, and all book lovers will receive special access to the books for a $25 admission fee
The sale officially starts on Thursday, April 18th, and admission to the sale is free from Thursday through Sunday. For your convenience, the sale has weekday, weekend, and evening hours

More than 20,000 hardcover and paperback books, as well as CDs, DVDs, and even LPs, all in good to excellent condition, will be available, the vast majority of them priced at 50 cents to two dollars. Rare and collectible books will also be attractively priced. On the last day of the sale, Sunday, April 21st, shoppers may purchase an entire bag full of books for just $5 or $10, depending on the bag size.
Tables will overflow with books sorted into categories, including history, biography, children's books, science fiction, romance, mystery, art, architecture, travel, psychology, sports, religion, cookbooks, and many more.

- POLICIES – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
- No one will be admitted prior to 10 AM
- Upon entry, buyers will be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions of the sale, and to agree to adhere to our policies.
- Book dealers are welcome however, hand held scanners will only be allowed for a limited time on the first day, Wednesday, April 10, from 10 am – noon
- No hoarding of books, sliding of boxes or bags of books across the floor will be allowed.
- Once a buyer accumulates an armload of books, they must be put in our monitored Hold area.
- Your name, a hold sign, and a monitor will be responsible for looking over your selections.
- Buyers must be respectful of all other buyers at the sale. No attempts to keep other buyers from accessing the shelves will be tolerated.

- In order to alleviate crowding in the Seller area, please be mindful of the following guidelines:
- No wheeled vehicles permitted in the basement other than:
- Occupied strollers (highly suggested not to come until after noon)
- Wheelchairs
- Book Seller-owned bins and flatbeds
- An area outside the library will be designated for parking strollers, wagons, flatbeds, etc. Library-owned flatbeds will be provided as needed.
- No large bags or boxes will be permitted in the aisles and no books on the floor.
- There will be a designated area for large boxes as well as an area to store selected books that can no longer be carried in hand.
- While we will continue to take credit cards ($10.00 minimum), we encourage you to pay in cash to help us avoid having to pay credit card fees.
- We have a limited number of bags available; please, if possible, bring your own.

- Trade fiction and small paperbacks in the hallway are not available for sale during the pre-view sale.
- All specials will be in a side room.
- Boxes ARE permitted.
- Entrance to the Pre-View Book Sale will be from the patio only.
- OPEN SALE: Friday (April 12) and Saturday (April 13) from 10 am - 4 pm
- Children's books will be on sale on the on-going sale bookshelves inside the library
- BAG SALE: Sunday (April 14) from 10 am - 3 pm; $8.00 per grocery bag
- One bag per person will be available from sale staff while supply lasts; or bring your own grocery-size bags.
- Children's books will not be included in the bag sale
- All proceeds benefit the Fairfax City Regional Library and the community it serves.
